Mountain bike reviews

Mountain biking has become one super recreational sporting activity enjoyed by numerous people of all ages.  The Mountain Bike has become one of the most recognized bicycle types on the market today.  Mountain Bikes are designed specifically to navigate rough terrains, much different then your traditional road bikes.  The Mountain Bike is also heavier than the road bike and this bike weight is advantageous for increased durability.  Mountain Bikes are designed for various riding styles and terrain, so it is important to understand just what kind of riding activity you will be participating in the majority of the time.  Mountain Biking is basically catagorized into different riding styles that include your smoother trail riding, cross country downhill, all out freeride, and your basic cruising.

You will entertain a completely different mindset depending on what Mountain Bike activity you will be involved in.  With the all out daring approach riding, you will have a totally different safety consciousness attitude.  The most important issue here is to always have the correct Mountain Bike and Mountain Biking equipment to match your riding style.

All Mountain Bikes are equipped with wide knobby tires for the purpose of good shock absorption and additional traction.  I like to recommend a full suspension Mountain Bike but that really depends on what kind of a budget you have to work with.  Full front and rear suspensions are becoming quite the norm for all Mountain Bikes nowadays.

Mountain Bikes are manufactured in different bike designs with multiple component combinations.  The Hard Tail Mountain Bike design has no rear suspension, but that being said, they are lighter in weight and pedal more efficiently.  The full suspension Mountain Bike design will offer more comfort and better control.  Unlike the Hard Tail, the Soft Tail Mountain Bike has some limited rear suspension and uses flex of the frame as opposed to pivots.  The Fully Rigid Mountain Bike model comes with no suspension, thus being fully rigid.  This Mountain Bike also has a fixed gear.  The Full Suspension Mountain Bike comes equipped with both rear and front suspension.  This Mountain Bike also has rear shock and linkage to move the rear wheel on pivots.

Shopping for a Mountain Bike that will fit your own personal needs can take some time and effort but it will be rewarding in the long run.  In reality there is no limit as to how much money you can shell out for a new Mountain Bike.  I would start the initial process by reviewing the budget you have set aside for your new Mountain Bike purchase.  Like anything else, look for Mountain Bikes that are available in your price range.  I believe you will be best served to locate a good local honest Mountain Bike dealer and at least start your journey there.  Remember, after the purchase of your new Mountain Bike you will likely need to get the bike serviced in furture years.

Mountain Biking is an adventurous and exciting outdoor activity that can be enjoyed by almost anyone.  Practice you skills, understand Mountain Biking safety, and have lots of fun!
